Vom einfachen Tray bis zum Kreislaufsystem

Growing Methods for Microgreens

There are four fundamental methods for growing microgreens. They range from simple trays lined with natural fibres to fully controlled recirculating and multi-tier systems. The most suitable method depends on the crop, production volume, available space, hygiene requirements, investment budget and desired degree of automation.

Substrate-based crops are robust and well suited to beginners. Pure hydroponics provides particularly precise control over water and nutrients. Aquaponic integration combines plant production with a fish-rearing system and requires careful biological balance. Vertical farming describes the spatial arrangement of production across several tiers and can be combined with various irrigation methods.
